Transport / Logistics Qualification or similar
In-depth knowledge of the Road Traffic Act, legislation and transport audit procedures.
Strategic thinker with good analytical skills and visible leadership in all aspects of the supply chain.
Computer literate on SYSPRO.
Ensure that the distribution and logistics function within the supply chain function are utilised efficiently and effectively through ongoing analysis and the identification of improvement opportunities, that controls are in place and monitored to determine compliance to all critical transport activities.
Ensure that customer orders are delivered in a safe, effective and efficient manner and in line with sales policy.
Implementation of transport policies, systems and standards that will improve customer service levels.
Evaluate optimal positioning in terms of cost, distribution sites with the aim to reduce cost, distribution sites with the aim to reduce cost and improve efficiencies.
Ensure pick slips, invoices are executed on time i.e. full containers.
Liaison with factories regarding delivery of finished goods, GIT and stillages.
Ensure that current business is optimised, rationalise complex distribution networks, negotiation transport contracts and develop sound relationships with providers.
Ensure that all vehicles are maintained in accordance with company standards and in accordance with the Road Traffic Act.
Costing monitoring and logistics efficiencies, rectifying in efficiencies and problem solving is critical.
