A company that specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of armored vehicles and tactical systems is seeking a mechanical design engineer.

POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our armored vehicles team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components for armored vehicles, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, safety, and reliability standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our clients and contribute to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for armored vehicles, including chassis, suspension, drivetrain, and structural elements.
• Utilize CAD software (such as SolidWorks or CATIA) to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Conduct engineering analyses, such as stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to validate designs and ensure they meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, including electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineering, to integrate mechanical components into overall vehicle designs.
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to select materials, components, and manufacturing processes that meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, and testing activities to evaluate and validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement.
• Support production teams during the manufacturing and assembly of armored vehicles, providing technical guidance and resolving design-related issues.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in armored vehicle design and engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
• Proven experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a focus on armored vehicles or heavy-duty machinery.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
• Experience with engineering analysis tools and techniques, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
• Familiarity with military standards and specifications related to armored vehicle design and performance (e.g., MIL-STD-810, STANAG 4569).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
