Senior Design Draughtsman
Alberton

A leading engineering company specialising in mechanical solutions for water and wastewater treatment is seeking a skilled Senior Design Draughtsman to join their growing design office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to product development, innovation, and the expansion of a specialised equipment range.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Produce accurate 2D and 3D design drawings, fabrication drawings, and assemblies
Develop and refine equipment designs to improve performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
Compile General Arrangement (GA) drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Support new product development and design variations based on client specifications
Ensure all designs meet company standards and ISO 9001:2015 compliance requirements
Collaborate with engineering, project, procurement, and production teams
Provide technical support during fabrication and resolve design-related challenges
Contribute to R&D initiatives and continuous improvement of products and processes

Minimum Requirements:

National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Draughting (or equivalent)
5–8 years’ experience in a mechanical design and draughting environment
Strong experience in water treatment or process equipment industries preferred
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling and drafting)
Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and fabrication processes
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
