Our client has a vacancy for a Deputy Nursing Manager, the private hospital is based on the West Rand in Gauteng Johannesburg

Job Responsibilities operating theatre

• Coordinate nursing practice within a legal, ethical, and clinical governance framework
• Contribute to and drive the nursing strategy in line with the hospital group business.
• Coordinate nursing activities with other departments to align to the strategy and goals of the hospital group.
• Drive and support all quality improvement initiatives
• Function within a multidisciplinary team to enhance clinical outcomes
• Manage patient experience and promote a positive patient experience
• Manage the patient environment in relation to health and safety and infection prevention and control
• Conduct effective risk management within the healthcare environment
• Promote continuous professional development through nursing education
• Manage the Nursing budget to promote cost effective quality care in the hospital
• Contribute to the growth and development of nurses within the hospital
• Develop a succession plan for key role players
• Recruit and retain the nursing workforce

Experience & Qualification required

A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualifications

Relevant Management and Education or equivalent NQF 8 Qualification – essential.

Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse.

Post Basic Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health Nursing Science is essential

Assessors and Moderator Trained.

Minimum 4 years private hospital experience

Relevant management experience is essential. (Unit Manger experience)

Experience in Quality Control and Assurance ISO 9001 is advantageous

Able to travel within the regions to support the functions of the roll will be required
