POSITION INFO:

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The core purpose of this job at the Nelson Mandela University is to ensure efficient governance administration by directing the provision of secretariat services to the governance structures of the University.

To ensure effective information management and legislative compliance by directing the records management function and by providing strategic guidance w.r.t. Enterprise Content Management (ECM) implementation.

To assist the Registrar with the execution of all institutional governance responsibilities.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

•Directing the provision of Committee Secretariat function to governance structures of the University

•Functions pertaining to governance matters

•Direct and guide the provision of an effective Content Management system in the University which supports

 regulatory, legal, risk and operational governance requirements

•Setting the Department''s overall strategic direction

•Effective and efficient management and directing of Human, Financial and Infrastructure Resource allocations/Requirements

CORE COMPETENCIES

•Experience of provision of secretariat services to structures/bodies on at least executive management level.

•Proven knowledge of governance practices and principles.

•Experience in policy and procedure development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring.

•Proficiency in English, both written and oral communication.

•Proven ability to draft managerial reports

•Ability to identify enhancements, interpret and apply regulatory or policy provisions within the incumbent''s area ofresponsibility

•Proven project management, problem solving, presentation and training skills

•Applied knowledge of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) (including legislation, systems, policies, proceduresand principles)

•The ability to conduct comparative analysis of policy, practices and legislation in higher education and

 

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for appointment to this post, candidates must possess:

•Relevant M+4 qualification

•6 Years’ governance administration experience, preferably in a higher education governance

 administration environment, of which at least 3 years must have been at managerial level.

 

All shortlistised candidates will be required to undergo psychometric assessments.
