SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Department Manager : Mechanical, Fabrication & Projects, for a permanent vacancy based 70km’s outside of East London, Eastern Cape

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
 
  • Grade 12 with complete relevant apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Mechanical Degree, Diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years’ experience with 2+ years supervisory / management experience
  • Must have experience with pumps, fans, blowers, gearboxes, pneumatics, valves, air & water lines and conveyor systems
  • Willing to work slightly longer hours due to travel time required (free transport from central points in EL
The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Management and supervision of team and reduce non-productive time
  • Ensure mechanical equipment – pumps, blowers, filters, motors & gearboxes are inspected, serviced and repaired
  • Ensure new projects and mechanical installations conform
  • Ensure availability of fit-for-purpose equipment, tools, installation items
  • Ensure all plumbing infrastructure and PVC lines are functional and control repair / availability
  • Ensure stock availability and effective stock levels in stores
  • Ensure work is performed and ensure assistance for afterhours breakdowns
  • Oversee health and safety
 
Salary:  R30 000.00 – R40 000.00 per month
