SUMMARY:
Established practice requires a Dental Assistant to perform the following duties:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ordering, checking and maintaining of the stock
Checking invoices against orders, approving invoices and forwarding for payment
Responsible for year-end stock count and pricing
Cleaning and sterilizing equipment before and after surgery
Preparing patients for surgery: checking blood pressure and supplying medicine
Preparing surgical instruments needed for surgery
General assistance to the Dentist for example taking photos during surgery
Preparing instruments and stock for surgery in hospital and for the other branches
Cleaning suction pipes
Making sure all implants have been ordered and received ahead of surgery
Responsible for a clean and sterile surgery and examining rooms (supervising cleaning)
Prepare instruments and stock for surgery in hospital
Assisting with the appointment book
Assisting with answering telephone and general smooth running of the practice
Ensuring that all computers in surgery and examining rooms are up and running
Ensuring that the systems used are up and running
Ensuring that the dentures of the patients are packed ahead of surgery or liaising with the Dentists to deliver the dentures a day before the procedure
Loading patient’s scans on CD as and when necessary
Arranging disposal of medical waste
Arranging collection of specimens for Pathcare
Must be willing to start early and work late as and when required
