What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an ambitious and reliable Demi Chef with:

A valid South African ID or work permit
Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
At least 2 years’ experience as a Commis or Demi Chef in a hotel or high volume restaurant
A culinary qualification or certificate (advantageous)
Strong technical cooking skills and knowledge of modern culinary techniques
Excellent time management and organisational skills
A strong team ethic and willingness to learn from senior chefs
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays

What You’ll Do

Prepare and cook dishes to hotel standards under the guidance of senior chefs
Support your section in maintaining smooth, efficient service during busy periods
Assist with daily mise en place, stock rotation, and portion control
Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene across your station
Contribute to menu development, presentation, and seasonal updates
Help ensure consistency and excellence in taste, texture, and appearance
Uphold a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and learning within the kitchen
