SUMMARY:
The Deceased Estate Administrator requires a suitably qualified individual who will be responsible for the holistic and full administration process relating to deceased estate matters in terms of relevant legislation and specifically to the Administration of Estates Act.

POSITION INFO:

This role would have involvement in all aspects of the estate administration process from inception to winding up of the estate. The respective candidate will be responsible for the administration of estates ranking from 18/3 estates to complex estates which may involve Capital Gains Tax and Estate Duty.

Essential Qualifications

  • Matric/Grade 12/National Senior Certificate
  • Certificate in Deceased Estate Administration via the Law Society or SA recognized Institution

Essential Skills and Experience

  • At least 5years experience as a Deceased Estate Administrator
  • No criminal record
  • Knowledge and technical know-how relating to all aspects of deceased estate administration
  • Previous experience working on Legalease preferable.
  • Computer literate and technologically savvy in, which include but are not limited to MS Office
  • Administrative procedures and systems
  • Relevant regulatory knowledge
  • Relevant software and systems knowledge
  • Business principles
  • Business terms and definitions
  • Governance, Risk and Controls

Key Result Areas:

  • Reporting of the estate to the Masters'' office as well as all other relevant stakeholders
  • Making contact with clients and maintaining such contact in terms of regular updates regarding the estate administration process and progress made
  • Placement of advertisements
  • Ensuring that all vouchers obtained are accurate to enable you to draft the liquidation and distribution account
  • Compliance with all stakeholders’ requirements to ensure timeous receipt of the information
  • Ensuring that various stakeholders are in receipt of the liquidation and distribution account
  • Ensuring that all proceeds due to the estate are received timeously
  • Completion of relevant documents for the transferring of assets
  • Ensure that all relevant tax certificates are obtained for the finalization of the income tax assessment
  • Ensuring that all assets have been transferred before the estate can be finalized
  • Attend to any queries from the Masters'' office
  • Ensure the full compliance of the administration process in terms of the Administration of Estates Act, current tax legislation, and any other applicable legislation as it may change from time to time
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes; systems and policies and support implementation of new processes; policies and systems
