SUMMARY:
A company based in Durban seeks a Debtors/Accounts Receivable to join the Finance team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Role Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Processing of invoices on Sage Evolution.
  • Processing of credit notes.
  • Capturing and allocating customer deposits from the bank statement.
  • Reconciling customer accounts and attending to customer queries timeously.
  • Performing proper credit checks (trade references) before opening new customer accounts.
  • Maintaining and updating customer files.
  • Perform month-end runs and send out customer statements on time.
  • Create debtors / customer reports as requested.
  • Work closely with the Sales Department and assist with required documents.
  • Assist auditors during year-end audits.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Follow up on overdue debtors.
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Completed Matric
  • Bookkeeping / Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Proven working experience as an accounts receivable / debtors clerk
 
Skills needed for this role (Non-negotiable):
  • 3 years or more within a Debtors/Accounts Receivable position.
  • Outstanding experience in Sage Evolution and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and understand Age Analysis and Debtors Reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good email and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
  • Good attitude and fast learner.
  • Proven understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Great customer service attitude and great interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or individually as and when required.
  • Good time management and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Printing and Packaging / Manufacturing industry experience will be advantageous
