Debtors / Creditors Clerk and Administrator

SUMMARY:
A well-established company is seeking an experienced Collections / Debtors & Creditors Clerk / General Administrator to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting, collections, and administrative experience.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric (relevant financial qualification advantageous)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting, debtors, creditors, or accounts receivable role
• Strong knowledge of invoicing, reconciliations, credit vetting, and collections
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and adaptable to learning new systems
• Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English
• High level of numerical accuracy and strong organisational skills
• Previous experience in the property industry will be advantageous but is not essential

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile customer and supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies timeously
• Monitor customer credit limits, perform credit checks, and manage credit risk
• Follow up on outstanding debt via phone, email, and formal correspondence
• Investigate and resolve overdue and disputed accounts
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve account queries
• Maintain accurate records of payments, communications, and disputes
• Prepare monthly age analysis reports
• Implement and adhere to collection procedures
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and credit policies
• Escalate problematic accounts and recommend legal or recovery action when required
• Provide back-up support to the accounts department

Salary
