Debtors Clerk (Administrator)

SUMMARY:

The main purpose of this position:

Proactively managing and collecting debts from Company debtors
Assessing new credit requests
Ensuring timely payment of debts
Ensuring accurate processing of payments


This is a 3 month contract position with the possibility of being extended

POSITION INFO:

Duties & Responsibilities include:
(But are not limited to)

Maintenance of Customer Information and Master Data on the system
Loading of customer information onto Syspro and Handshake to enable Sales Reps to be able to place orders and process credit returns
Reconcile Customer Accounts and attend to any account queries
Generate and Issue Customer Statements
To keep a record of customers’ accounts and ensure payments are received as per their terms and if not, follow up on such accounts
Recommending a suitable course of action to recover owed money when customers cannot pay in full
Negotiating payment deadlines and payment plans, with the approval of the line manager
The vetting of customers balances over a period to ascertain a suitable credit limit
Identify and report on problematic accounts
Attend to telephone and email account queries
Processing of Cashbook daily
Releasing orders from “Suspense status” if an account is in good standing/payment has been made
Running of month-end statements and printing of Debtors Analysis reports
To adhere to KPI’s that the company has set out with regards to outstanding debts


Requirements:

Matric
Relevant Tertiary qualification - advantageous
Previous experience within the same/similar role
Valid driver’s license with own vehicle


Remuneration:

Up to R15 000 depending on experience
