SUMMARY:
Our client is a multinational customer clearing, freight forwarding and ships agency with offices in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Walvis Bay.
They are looking for a DEBTORS CLERK to join their Cape Town team for a 4 month maternity contract.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

EMPLOYMENT TYPE       :           TEMPORARY

START DATE :           A.S.A.P / IMMEDIATE

DUTIES:

Capture Debt Collection comments on FileMaker (training to be provided)
Update schedule for daily cash flow
Follow up on debtors payments and ensure that debts are paid timeously
Ensure debtor statements are correct and sent to clients
Resolve queries
Allocate and apply receipts on daily basis
Inform Credit Controller of changes needed on Debtors Master files
Process Journals timeously
Raise interest invoices
Scan and file credit applications
Download reports for meetings
Enforce policies and procedures
Ad-hoc duties

REQUIREMENTS:

Matric + tertiary qualification
1 years’ experience in debt collecting
Knowledge of Forex, Ships Agency & Freight Industry (advantage)
Highly motivated
Able to work overtime when necessary
Deadline driven
