SUMMARY:
Dealer Manager_Sales and Service required for Heavy Commercial Vehicle's OEM and based on the East Rand to optimise the flow in Sales to Delivery and Service Delivery Process by developing, managing and leading the Dealership' strategic development whilst overseeing the daily operations of the organisation to maximise customer and employee satisfaction and achieving business objectives

POSITION INFO:

Purpose:

Work to optimise the flow in the Sales to Delivery and Service Delivery Process.  To proactively develop, manage and lead the Dealership / Region''s strategic development as well as the day to day operations to maximise customer and employee satisfaction was well as achieving financial and business performance targets.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Ensure the Delaership''s business planning process and strategic management, developing strategies and establishing financial and operational targets and objectives, in consultation with senior management, ensuring the overall goals of the company are met.
    • Manage business planning process, set business targets based on solid market analysis and the future vision of the Dealers as well as the organisation in general.
    • Plan and develop the business together with the management team at the Dealer, making sure that they have and apply a holistic view of the business.
    • Take par in business forums where trends and future will be presented and discussed.
    • Execute market analysis regarding general overview, capacity, competitors.
    • Carry out financial and monthly results analysis and reporting, creating action plans where necessary.
    • Be in contact with the distributor, for support and assistance, offer feedback on trends and activities in the market; coordinate sales; negotiatie prices, terms and discounts on products, parts and services, etc.
    • Build and develop the business within the region, create customer value through market development, promotion of after sales services and sale of new and used vehicles.
    • Work with the Customer Satisfaction Index and surveys, generate action plans where necessary.
  • Establish a management structure within the Dealership, conducting regular management meetings to monitor performance and fulfilment against set targets and objectives, implementing a continuous improvement approach.
    • Secure the day to day operations of the Dealership by implementing a structured and organised way of working with defined routines and procedures as well as efficient allocation of tasks and resources.
    • Ensure departments work in cooperation with each other and the distributor through open and effective communication.
    • Ensure that the Dealership complies with all company procedures, policies and processes as well as laws and regulations.
    • Manage and monitor all approved routines, procedures and policies are applied and follow up daily.
    • Plan and carry out recurring management team and department head meetings.
    • Monitor and ensure that operations targets and results are followed up, communicated and, if not met, create action plans and take action where necessary.
    • Take part in the weekly sales pulse, monitor custome retention and participate in key deals.
    • Approve Dealer expenditures.
  • Act as a broad external representative for the Dealership and the organisation in general, showcasing the company''s presence outside the own organisation, interacting with customers, business associations, unions, schools, etc. to ensure customer satisfaction, growth of business and acehivement of financial targets.
    • Build and develop customer relationships within the region ensuring needs are being met, and services developed to meet the future needs of customers, especially regarding new potential customers.
    • Visit potential and current customers, negotiating deals, and resolving complaints and issues if needed.
    • Build and sustain a company brand and image outside the company, being the company''s face in the region.
    • Identify business associations, groups and authorities in the region for the company to be interacting with and represented in, participating in round table and other professional network meetings, forums and events.
    • Make sure that the Dealership and company interaction and cooperation with schools and universities in the region.
    • Work with Corporate Social Responsibility for the Dealership and company in the region.
    • Ensure Dealership contacts and interaction with the appropriate unions and labour law associations.
  • People Management:  Ensure the emplpoyee satisfaction and capture the best skills on the market by working with the locally defined HR processes and tools, generating a team based and cooperative atmosphere in accordance with the company''s values and principles.
    • Ensure that all employees are informed of the company''s vision and core values, financial position, targets, objectives, performance, products and working methods.
    • Develop the Dealership cutlure based on the company''s values and mission, lead and motivate staff to achieve business objectives.
    • Plan and secure monthly employee information and communication.
    • Recruit qualified employees and take actions to develop and train the staff to meet the demands of the business.
    • Monitor employee retention and work with employee satisfaction through surveys, action plans and actions, taking time to talk to the employees.
    • Take responsibility and carry out appropriate and needed on the job training
    • Mentor and coach people to ensure objectives are met / targets achieved.
    • Supervise the workshop staff, including monitoring of time keeping and productiviey.
    • Oversee all Health and Safety regulations, ensuring safe work practices are adhered to.
    • Conduct P&D talks a minimum of 1 x annum.
    • Set and review salary and salary levels according to procedures defined in the market.
    • Ensure that proper consideration and actions are prepared and carried out regarding succession and management planning.
    • In the team, work with the results of employee satisfaction surveys and define action plans.
    • Work actively with change management, initiate, implement and sustain changes when needed.

Qualification / Education / Experience:

  • High School Education with further education in a relevant field a strong advantage.
  • Relevant business knowledge and experience in a similar role
  • Extensive managerial and leadership experience preferably in the heavy vehicle or a related industry.
  • Driver''s licence
