Database Administrator

SUMMARY:
A rapidly growing business who is the first-of-its-kind in its industry is currently seeking for a Database developer to join their dynamic team.

POSITION INFO:

Duties include but not limited to:
-Design, develop, install and implement database systems based on project requirements.
-Participate in database design and architecture to support application development projects.
-Script functions and stored procedures to support application development.
-Refactor structure of existing DBs to meet evolving requirements of the company
-Optimize database systems to promote performance efficiency.
-Perform space management and capacity planning for database systems.
-Ensure data quality and integrity in databases.
-Identify any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.
-Perform data back-up and archival on regular basis.
-Analyse Database logs to troubleshoot database related issues.
-Implement best security practices for DBs

Minimum Requirements:
-Matric
-A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology would be advantageous
-Experience in applying technical design and development skills to the creation of databases
-Knowledge or relational databases (PostgreSQL & MYSQL) and NO SQL DBs (Mongo)
-In depth understanding of DB configuration variables for performance tuning
-Experience in using database backup and file transfer tools
-Good analytical skills in identifying bottlenecks or envision clogging in existing stored procedures
-Knowledge of networking and web security fundamentals
