Data Engineer/Developer

SUMMARY:

Our client, a leader in investment management, is seeking to employ a talented Data Engineer/Data Scientist to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be from a developing background, has strong technical and analytical skills, and can translate complex business requirements into solutions. The Data Engineer develops and maintains robust data pipelines, performing complex data analyses, and builds predictive models.

POSITION INFO:

Key Experience:

• Experience in Python or R
• Knowledge of common software architectures and development patterns and practices
• Backend development and modern web development experience
• Basic familiarity with DevOps concepts
• Experience with Cloud-based infrastructure and services
• Experience with Continuous integration/deployment workflows and tools
• Experience with Containers and container orchestration
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools.
• Experience with Machine-learning frameworks
• Experience with Automated testing

Key Requirements:

• Asset management domain knowledge
• Degree in a relevant subject with an outstanding academic record
