Data Developer

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for a Data Developer to provide crucial business solutions who will be responsible for aggregating data from multiple sources in an efficient data warehouse and designing enterprise-level solutions for very large multi-dimensional databases. The incumbent will solve real-world business problems by designing and building relational databases and OLAP (online analytical processing) cubes, writing queries and designing reports. The Data Developer will also be required to work with and provide assistance to other Data Developers within the team.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Analyze specific requirements and translate them into workable solutions
• Create/build and document efficient solutions that comply with internal departmental standards and industry best practice
• Ensure that the code complies with original requirements through unit testing and demonstrations
• Deliver the required solution within the agreed upon timeframes
• Liaise and work together with the team to ensure application requirements and performance goals are met
• Stay abreast of developments in the Business Intelligence space and apply new knowledge and technology where appropriate
• ADHOC Requests and assist with special projects

Essential qualifications and Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
• Formal Degree in computer science or higher or equivalent qualification
• 5+ years’ experience in Database development and ETL (Essential), an additional 2 years’ in the above (Desirable)
• 5+ years’ Experience working with MS SQL Server (Essential) and the Microsoft Stack
• Experience with DATIM, DHIS, ETR.NET, TIER.Net, Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), OLAP, Tabular Cubes, PHP and Health Indicators is desirable
• Advanced SSIS Package Skills
• Proficient in Data Warehousing
• Ability to organize, analyze and disseminate data in various formats
• Passionate about excellent service delivery.
• Deadline-driven and good at self-management and personal upskilling.
• Experience within the NGO or Health Sector will be an added advantage
• Ability to present technical information
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication together with stakeholder management skills
• Proactive with a problem solving and innovative mindset
