Introduction:

• Our client is seeking Data Centre Operators, who can function in a highly-demanding role in a high-pressure environment, who is resilient and be able to work well under pressure.
• The Data Center Operator monitors, identifies, and resolves issues concerning the data center, server equipment and backup equipment; performs upgrades, assists with data storage issues, maintains data center documentation, tracks physical data center inventory, and maintains disaster recover processes and documentation.
• The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that data center operations are monitored, available for processing, and that data center is ready for daily draw procedures.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

• Candidates are required to have a minimum of 5 years+ ICT and 3 years + data centre operations
• NQF 7/Degree
• ITIL
• A+/N+/COMPTIA/MSCE/Data Centre management

Job Description:

• Monitors, identifies, resolves issues and make enterprise backup system recommendations
• Operation of network and system monitoring systems
• Monitor, prepare the data centre infrastructure and participate in draw processing procedures
• Plan and Manage Projects
• Analyse data
• Maintains off site backup processes and documentation
• Installs, maintains and upgrades server equipment
• Prepares and submits documentation for equipment
• Assists in inventory tagging of data center equipment
• Prepares used data center equipment for deployment
• Serves as back-up to other data center staff
• Installs and troubleshoots data network issues
• Assists in training.
