POSITION INFO:

Our client in the Cyber Security space, based in Sandton is looking for a vibrant and experienced Data Analyst. Interested candidates must be available immediately and please note it is a contract role.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Bachelor’s Degree (BSc. in Statistics or Computer Science or Data Analytics) or equivalent qualification
3-5 years’ experience as a data analyst
Programming experience - candidates skilled in using programming language R will be preferred
Knowledgeable in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and SQL databases
Technical report writing experience
Strong analytic skills and critical thinking skills
Excellent attention to detail skills
Good communication skills

Key responsibilities:

Use appropriate software to collect, organise, analyse, and interpret large volumes of data from various platforms.
Ensure that the data is analysed, constructed in the correct format
Ensure that the data is kept accurate and up to date,
Development and implementation of data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
Maintain databases/data systems.
Filter and cleanse data, and review reports to locate and correct code problems.
Conduct a data verification or accuracy process to identify problems and develop solutions to resolve problems.
Identify new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting.
