An analytics consultancy HQ''d in Edinburgh is looking for a Data Analyst to join their high calibre, small but growing team of data professionals.
Your new company:
An analytics consultancy who work with clients across most industries helping them to solve real world data problems.
They have been in the world of data analytics since before it was cool to call yourself a Data Scientist or Data Engineer. As a result, pretty much everyone in the team is called a Data Consultant. No room for egos, or indeed deep specialisms here.
Historically they helped financial services firms solve difficult data problems but have branched out into a host of industries, meaning you''ll be involved in an array of projects from day one.
Your new role:
You will get the chance to work with a small, growing team that love to collaborate and work closely with each other. The team are really good at training and upskilling, you will learn more here in a few months than you probably would in a few years in other places.
Day to day in the early part of your time with the firm, you''ll be involved in the heavy lifting data analysis, a lot of cleaning data, pulling it together and working closely with the Senior Consultants to turn it into something actionable for the client.
You:
You will be comfortable working in a client-facing role, being able to talk to stakeholders, explaining your solutions in both technical and non-technical terms as some days you''ll talk to other data people, but sometimes it''ll be a total tech novice. You have to be comfortable with both.
Technically speaking, you''ll need to show us strong SQL skills (a given in any data role to be honest), ideally Python or R, but these can be trained.
All of their current projects are making use of one of the major cloud vendors, so if your work has touched on AWS, GCP or Azure, that''s a big bonus, but again can be trained. And finally, if you''ve had a chance to mess around with some Machine Learning models or anything of that ilk, they''d love to see that - even if it''s a side project. Their Director of Data got his start in the industry by turning a side project into a stand alone product, so he loves that sort of thing.
On offer:
At the top end, the salary is sitting at £45,000, with private health insurance and wellbeing support.
