DTP Specialist - Graphic Designer

SUMMARY:

Our client, a reputable mortgage origination company based in Durban is searching for a DTP Specialist to join their dynamic and innovative team.

POSITION INFO:

Key purpose:

Reporting to the Internal Agency Manager and based in their beautiful head office in Durban, the inhouse DTP designer will be part of a dynamic team responsible for creating and rolling out the marketing elements, in line with the brand purpose, values and vision. This person will be included in interpreting and giving visual identity to the communication idea to create compelling and relevant communication materials, as well as implementing day to day updates to marketing collateral and business documentation, ensuring brand consistency across all channels and divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand the brief and ensure that all information and files are gathered at hand-over
• Evaluate and prepare project deliverables following set quality standards.
• Co-ordinate planning to ensure deadlines are met and prioritise workflow.
• Gather existing materials or work with designers and writers to create new artwork or text
• Verify source files and fonts and the conversion of files for print.
• Producing graphics such as diagrams, charts and tables,
• Produce and edit PDF application forms, policy documents and brochures, must be able to integrate interactive functionality.  
• Find and edit graphics, such as photographs or illustrations
• Design and produce simple digital materials: social media images, gif''s, website banners, newsletter and email templates etc. within the company and usability standards.
• Understand the digital process to ensure that artwork meets usability, website and social media platform standards.
• Use of electronic publishing technologies, such as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) to convert documents to an internet-ready format.
• Ensuring consistency in designs and content across all company platforms.
• Be aware and have full understanding of cost implications and sense of responsibility towards the client budget restrictions.
• Liaises directly with Internal Agency Manager to determine deadlines, job instructions and design requirements to ensure timeous delivery. Provide feedback to Manager with regards project tasks status.
