DESIGN ROOM MANAGER (AA/EE) - CAPE TOWN

SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing a team of patternmakers, sample cutters / raters, sewing machinists and garment technologists. Dealing with and resolving all technical aspects relating to garments and ensuring critical path lead times are met.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
 

• Ensure budgeted outputs are achieved
• Ability to put Corrective Action Plans in place and/or revise processes if the above

• Owning the sealing process and ensure that internal processes and quality

• Align with the Production and Merchandise department to ensure that garments

• Ensure a Block Library is created and maintained
• Responsible that all technical information required for garment production is

• Responsible for systems and procedures to be implemented as well as training

• Matric / Grade 12
• Diploma in Garment Production and/or Design would be advantageous
• Minimum 5 - 8 years management experience in a similar role
• Good Excel skills to generate reports
• Strong pattern and garment construction knowledge
• Good understanding of garment manufacturing processes as well as garment finishing processes

• Good knowledge of Fabric Construction and end-use suitability
• Knowledge of Gerber / Lectra Patternmaking and Grading would be advantageous
• Understanding of Body Measurement charts and how to apply when Grading
