Overview:

Established company within an automotive manufacturing environment, seeks to employ a Customs Liasion and Shipping Clerk in a part-time capacity for a 6 - 12 month contract.  The successful candidate must be willing to train and upskill junior staff that will be joining the department. 

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong Excel skills/knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work with people across all areas of the factory

 

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain, collate, prepare and process product orders from weekly releases
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure customer orders are filled timeously and accurately
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure paperwork is complete and accurate as per customer specifications, legal requirements and invoicing
  • Obtain scheduled shipment information from the shipment company
  • Prepare paperwork for shipments
  • Ensure correct inventory from finished goods warehouse is pulled for order
  • Quality check products/packaging
  • Verify orders are accurately filled
  • Prepare export documents and maintain documentation of goods shipped including SARS rebate books and invoicing
  • Print shipment labels and customs documents where necessary
  • Ensure shipments are properly identified and labelled
  • Coordinate with delivery drivers to pick up shipments from the plant
  • Check delivery drivers in and out and collect the required information
  • Provide outbound detail reports
  • Ensure shipments are properly loaded into the containers
  • Track and update the status of outgoing shipments
  • Liaise with operations to ensure shipments are completed as scheduled
  • Notify customers of any schedule or order changes
  • Prepare and maintain records of items shipped
  • Enter daily activity information into electronic platforms
  • Scan and count inventory accurately
  • Maintain and update inventory records
  • Respond to customer requests and concerns
  • Comply with all safety regulations
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures
  • Facilitate an excellent working relationship with customers
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
