POSITION INFO:

Role
Designs and develops the organisation’s learning programs aligned with students’ training needs. They establish what topics students should learn and what materials must be used. Conduct assessment and analysis to identify new development needs and recommends training methods accordingly. Their responsibilities include researching, planning, developing, implementing, and revising curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with staff to ensure all curriculum objectives are aligned with the organisation''s core standards. 
  • Evaluation, purchase and incorporation of texts, material, resources and technology that will support instructional quality and integrate them into classroom instruction and program practices. 
  • Develop internal systems and procedures that advance instructional quality. 
  • They must be familiar with current guidelines, policies, and regulations as they pertain to education. 
  • Work well in large groups and be able to teach, guide, and mentor other teachers and administrators. 
  • Conducting skills gap analyses for potential clients.
  • Designing detailed educational curriculum, including topics, dates and number of hours required per course. 
  • Creating engaging training course content (videos, quizzes and activities) and research and recommend modern educational methods (e.g., gamification) 
  • Selecting appropriate instructional methods, defining time frames, and preparing training materials in physical and digital formats. 
  • Continuously identify content that needs to be developed and consult with subject matter experts to provide course content and training curriculum. 
  • Set learning objectives and determining assessment and evaluation criteria for each course. 
  • Organize physical and digital resources for Facilitators and trainees. 
  • Provide manuals and guidelines on how to use online training material.
  • Follow up with trainees and instructors after each course and collect feedback.

Minimum Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • A degree in Instructional design, Educational Technology or relevant field. 
  • 3 – 5 years'' work experience as a Curriculum Designer, Instructional Designer or similar role. 
  • Experience in education and instruction, analytical skills, experience in designing curriculum, IT skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to use various referencing systems 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Hands-on experience with Learning Management Software (LMS). 
  • Familiarity with video editing software. 
  • Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge. 
  • Ability to write clear instructional copy.
