Our client is one of the market leading Supply/Distribution and Retail companies operating within the Construction industry. This client is currently looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual to appoint as the Creditors Manager within their Finance team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree and/or Bachelor of Accounting Science (BCompt) degree
• Minimum 8 years’ working experience in a similar position
• Previous managerial and/or team management experience Accounts Payable and Creditors’ related roles and responsibilities is non-negotiable
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are highly advantageous

Job description & Skills:

• Overseeing the entire creditors’ cycle involving invoice matching, claim and price discrepancy management, and reconciliation of creditors’ accounts prior payments
• Processing and resolving supplier queries in accordance with company standards and/or procedures
• Facilitating the processing and/or invoicing of creditors for the Creditors Department and ensuring that it is in accordance with agreed reporting relating to aging of suppliers
• Ensuring that settlement discounts are maximised for all relevant suppliers
• Ensuring that supplier rebates, special supplier arrangements, and collections are accurately reported, calculated, and collected when due and/or routinely required
• Managing the cashflow requirements while maintaining communication and/or input from the Finance Department
• Conducting analyses and/or reviews of relevant creditors’ income and expense general ledger accounts
• Providing business advice, recommending strategic interventions, and facilitating decision making that continuously improves the performance of the company and results in the achievement of goals and objectives
• Ensuring that all roles, responsibilities and/or competencies are assigned to appropriately competent individuals to ensure succession planning for all managerial and key positions
• Facilitating staff training and development while maintaining an environment that promotes improved efficiencies, best practices, innovation, and employee excellence within the company
• Assisting with the successful completion of ad hoc activities and projects identified and/or initiated by management
