SUMMARY:
Urgently seeking a Credit and Investment Monitoring Officer for Durban. The appointee will be required to conduct risk appraisals of the organisations investments, perform pre and post investment activities, with respect to credit management functions, in adherence with the credit and equity policies of the organisation.

POSITION INFO:

The following minimum requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position:

  • B Com degree (with majors in Accounting or equivalent) LLB / B Com Honors or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project finance / private equity or in a similar finance service environment, with exposure and/or clear understanding of project finance, private equity, financial analysis, investment appraisal, post-investment risk management
  • Strategic thinking coupled with strong financial modelling experience;
  • Good report writing skills;
  • Strong research skills;
  • Understanding of project finance (debt and equity investments);
  • A team player and
  • Understanding of post-investment management.

The ideal individual will be allocated the following responsibilities:

  • Risk monitoring of the organization’s investments including:
  • - analyzing financial statements of the investee company to determine its financial soundness;
  • Oversea and monitor all investments to ensure adherence to:
  • - all undertakings and representations;
  • - covenants;
  • - the status of security provided;
  • - the organization’s policies;
  • - projected budget in accordance with the business plan; and
  • - report on ESG, B-BBEE and Job Creation.
  • Physical monitoring of project progress from financial close, in line with terms of the investment agreements, including portfolio performance and analysis, valuations of investee companies s and project management of the disbursement process and the allocation of distributions;
  • Physical monitoring of project progress from financial close in line with terms of the legal agreements by conducting regular client visits;
  • Compile monthly/quarterly/bi-annual/annul investment review reports and plans for various committees;
  • Development of a turnaround plan or strategy for the investee company;
  • Performance of ad hoc tasks as and when required by Exco;
  • Prepare and submit the following credit reports as part of Final Appraisal Report for approval to various committee:
  • - Analysis of project risk and mitigations,
  • - Analysis of Historical financials,
  • - Risk grading matrix;
  • - Interpret sensitivity scenarios on the financial model;
  • - Contribute and review Draft indicative and final term sheets.
  • Work in conjunction with the Investment Officer in preparing a detailed due diligence on project proposals for various committees, including but not limited to the following research:
  • - Market analysis/appraisal;
  • - Development impact;
  • - Risk and risk mitigation;
  • - Technical appraisal;
  • - High level Environmental impact analysis;
  • - Financial viability appraisal/financial modelling;
  • - Organizational expertise;
  • - High level Financial analysis of historic Financials and
  • - Pricing of credit.
