This role is to ensure that monies owing to the company are paid within the specified timescale and to ensure ledgers are accurately maintained within the financials

Essential Key Skills

• 5 years experience as a Credit Controller
• A strong customer focus with an ability to manage multiple deadlines is essential
• You should be able to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues verbally and in writing
• It is important you can build relationships with a variety of people at different levels

Key Responsibilities

Credit Control

• To analyse and reconcile customer accounts
• To print regular aged debtor reports for credit control purposes
• Using aged debtors reports, chase up unpaid accounts by telephone, letter or e-mail, find out when payments will be made, make sure there are no problems with the invoices and then update system notes accordingly
• To send copies of any requested transactions and update system notes accordingly
• Provide weekly updates to Credit Control Supervisor of expected receipts to facilitate management cash forecasting
• To provide specific and ad-hoc reporting, including but top 30 debtors report
• To maintain details of all invoices under query, notify relevant co-ordinators and flag transactions accordingly within Microsoft GP and query log
• To regularly print and mail statements to debtors
• To maintain accurate address and contact details
• To ensure all debtor accounts are clean and up to date (i.e. credit notes and cash receipts allocated, underpayments and currency variances researched and dealt with appropriately)
• To deal with general correspondence from debtors and keep filing up to date
• Deal with any requests from colleagues for information regarding debtor accounts/transactions through the finance helpdesk
• Highlight and pursue legal action against defaulters
• Charging the credit/debit card and allocating the funds to the respective debtors.
• Check pending debtor approval and communicate with the sales/coordinators for any information required

• To work effectively within the client by providing support, where required, to all members of the organisation
• To provide suggestions for increased efficiency within the department and/or organisation
• To use company assets with appropriate diligence and care
• To assist in the development and training of colleagues
• To take on any other duties that may reasonably be asked of you
