Highly Rewarding Credit Controller Opportunity, Manufacturing Industry, Pinetown, Durban KZN (R220K – R270K TCTC)
POSITION INFO:
Our Client, a well-established South African Manufacturer is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Credit Controller to lead, mentor and inspire a team of direct reports, based in their Pinetown, Durban, KZN Head Office.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- Report to the Group Debtors Manager.
- Control and Monitor outstanding balances which includes timeous cash collections, assessing credit risks, claim resolution and minimizing bad debts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare monthly reports for management.
- Placing customers on hold for non-payment
- Other credit control related duties: As and when required.
- Minimise credit exposure by reviewing new and existing customer credit limits and credit terms.
- Managing credit risk of company
- Make decisions regarding customers within ambit of role
- Recommend legal action for delinquent customers.
- Maintaining the filing and reconciliations
- Maintaining the customer balances on computer system
- Maintaining the credit limits per customer
- Maintain credit control procedures and policies in terms of best practice industry standards
- Liaise with sales and customer service departments with regards to queries and customer matters of concern
- Liaise with legal and compliance department for all legal cases and collection issues.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer requests
- Ensure that credit policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Collect outstanding balances from all debtors
- Assisting in processing of credit applications and resolving any queries on the applications
- Analysis and commentary for customers countrywide
Management of assigned portfolio of customer accounts which includes but is not limited to:
- Processing of customer discounts
- Allocation and reconciliation of the customer’s account
- Sending out statements monthly and follow up telephonically to ensure they have been received
- Sending of POD’s on request from customer
KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree or Diploma in Credit Management or relevant Tertiary qualification is essential.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years'' managerial experience preferably in a Manufacturing Finance Management environment
- Proficient in MS Office software
- Proven track record in effective credit management
- Experience in manufacturing environment/ finance department
- Detailed Working Knowledge of the JDE system / ERP system will be a distinct advantage
