Credit Control Manager (Online Travel)

SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Credit Control Specialist for an online travel company based in Centurion.

POSITION INFO:

Major objectives
To manage and monitor outstanding balances owed by a large number of online travel agents (OTA), minimise bad debt write offs, ensuring timely cash collections and being a mentor to other team members. Be innovative in terms of process improvements.
Responsibilities

• Creating procedures and policies that ensure timely payments from OTAs while maintaining a high level of customer retention
• Reconciling accounts that have been escalated from the AR team
• Monitoring debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtors
• Ensuring credit and collection policies and procedures are followed within your team
• Liaising with customers, as well as internal personnel
• Leading weekly meetings to review the aged debt with the CFO and Sales Director, able to present priority issues and ensure action points are agreed on, documented and followed up each week
• Being proactive in pursuing a resolution to ongoing disputes to protect the business from bad debts but sensitive to commercial relationships
• Prioritising workload correctly within the team, ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently and communicated to the OTAs in a timely manner to accelerate payment
• Running of weekly reports for distribution to management with accurate comments for aged / troublesome debts
• Communication of forecasted receipts for cashflow forecasting, and awareness of wider cashflow impact if receipts deviate from forecast
• Being an escalation source for team members dealing with non-payers
• Being able to make decisions on how to resolve ongoing disputes and confidence to advise and discuss with senior management

• Finance Diploma or Degree
• 3 years of credit and collection management experiences
• SAP or Syspro consulting experience (Financial Modules)
• Computer literacy, experience in using computer system, Word and Excel (Advance)
• Good understanding of financial accounting and business processes
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Good business acumen for problem solving
• Experience of working in a high volume / low value business would be an advantage
• Confidence to deal with a range of senior stakeholders
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload
