Craftsmen / Artisans (Manufacturing)

Responsibilities:

• Perform skilled fabrication work in the construction, forming, framing, and finishing of products
• Construct, install, maintain, and repair products as required
• Effectively and safely operate a variety of tools and equipment used in the skilled carpentry and fabrication trade
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, sketches, and work orders
• Analyse situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
• Practice good housekeeping to ensure a safe and uncluttered workplace
• Participate in and demonstrate an understanding of safety principles and practices; follow all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements
• Always adhere to the Design and Technical specifications
• Be able to produce a variety of items from start to finish, e.g., furniture, displays units, point-of-sale solutions
• Work with various materials in the construction process, such as wood, acrylic, resin, metal, and apply the appropriate finishes.

 
Experience & Qualifications:

• Any carpentry, cabinetry, joinery, CNC machining, printing, electrical courses / certification, or working towards, would be an asset
• 3+ years’ experience in related field
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Ability to problem-solve to achieve design intent
• Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
• Good communication skills
• Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested
• Periodic travel may be required
• Ability to perform physical labour daily (long hours of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling & frequent lifting of materials)
