POSITION INFO:

This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded individual with excellent numerical skills and a flair for customer service. You will have a pro-active, can-do attitude which you’ll combine with a keen eye for detail and great people skills. You will report into the current Commercial Analyst and support the Operations, Finance and Business Development teams in the SA as well as our global office network. Essential to the position is must have pharma costing experience.

Main Purpose of Job:

  • To maximise the profitability of jobs through thorough review of the estimated costs and by accurately pricing Customer jobs.
  • To scrutinise supplier invoice discrepancies, identify the root causes, take targeted actions and report the findings to the business.
  • To raise Customer invoices in a timely manner.

 Key Responsibilities:

Essential to the position is must have pharma costing experience.
  • Pricing:
  • Review the estimated costs on jobs to ensure that they are complete and Accurate, using Supplier tariffs where required.
  • Ensure all jobs are accurately priced, according to the relevant tariffs, in a timely manner.
  • Review the Gross Margin of individual jobs and consider the possible actions for any that are low margin to maximise profitability.
  • Bring any low margin jobs, that cannot be resolved by sales price, to the attention of the Commercial Analyst.
  • Assist with quotations and completing the quote sheets for month end reporting.
  • Sorting query discrepancies with Operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Essential:
  • Educated to Matric or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Proven experience of working within a financial or logistics environment.
  • Excellent customer service ethic and experience of building positive working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience of multi-tasking and managing competing business demands.
  • Highly numerate and comfortable working with detailed spreadsheets to extract and analyse data and prepare bespoke and standard reports.
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Excel and Word – able to use standard formulas and analyse and present data using pivot tables, graphs and interested in developing these skills further.
  • An ability to interpret and apply financial data (Supplier tariffs).
  • Strong commercial awareness and able to identify trends and cost saving opportunities.
  • Desirable:
  • Logistics, courier or freight forwarding experience.
