SUMMARY:
A dynamic organization is looking to employ an Estimator / Cost Accountant with 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role with experience in a manufacturing environment

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements

Matric
Valid driver’s license & own vehicle
Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience
Advanced MS Office & Excel, Syspro
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis capabilities
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments with clients.
In-depth Knowledge of Cost Factors
Attend technical review meetings, when required, to gain a clear understanding of customer briefs for new projects
Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, including materials, substrates, inks, coatings, dies, plates, finishing, labour, and related expenses
Review and approve estimates prepared by the Internal and External Sales Teams in line with management standards
Identify the most cost-effective production methods, considering machine capacity, run times, setup costs, market conditions, and sustainability factors
Liaise with buyers, suppliers, and vendors to obtain pricing for raw materials, outsourced processes, and packaging components
Work closely with Sales, Design, and Production teams to ensure estimates align with customer requirements and operational capabilities
Prepare and issue formal quotations and tender documents within required timeframes, with management approval where necessary
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through efficient material usage and production optimization
Maintain and update cost databases, supplier price lists, and production rates
Support project handovers to ensure production teams fully understand job specifications and cost structures
