Cost Accountant

Excellent Opportunity for a Cost Accountant, Technical Textiles Manufacturing Industry, Durban, KZN (R300K – R360K TCTC NEG)

POSITION INFO:

Our Client, a well-established South African Manufacturer in the Technical Textiles industry is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Male Cost Accountant to be based in their Pinetown, Durban, KZN Operations.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Cost & Management accounting qualification ESSENTIAL
• Minimum with 3-5 years’ diversified manufacturing experience
• Any ERP System Experience
• High Computer Literacy Skills-MS Office Suite
• Extensive Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Solid knowledge of equipment capabilities.
• Excellent understanding of computerised production planning systems
• Planning and analytical skills
• BOM’s, Variance Analysis, Costings experience
• Budgets, Forecasting experience
• Stock count experience 
• Attention to detail and high accuracy skills
• Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
• Strong organizational skills and able to work methodically
• Ability to work under pressure in deadline driven environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to think laterally, team player with a positive attitude
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage change

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report into the Group Costing Manager
• Reviewing Raw Material unit & Outworker cost information provided by the Procurement
• Department.
• Create BOMs based on Bill of Materials received from Design Department.
• Update costings based on Bill of Materials captured on JDE.
• Update budget prices annually for all raw materials in the manufacturing branch plants, these are the standard prices used for all costing.
• Resolve Costing Enquiries from Export Department/KAMS/Marketing.
• Reviewing and posting of manufacturing accounting journal entries on a daily basis.
• Variance and sundry adjustment accounts analysis on a daily basis.
• Efficiency analysis and reporting - Tracking efficiencies for various department for presentation to the various stakeholders in the business.
• Submission of information requested by Group Costing Manager for management account

reports and packs for board meetings.

• Oversee stock counts (full and cycle counts) – Raw material, Work in Progress and Finished Goods.
• Perform Stock in Production counts (full and cycle counts).
• Daily analysis of Stock Status Reports.
• Recommendations to Group Costing manager on cost reduction projects
• Continuous improvement of raw material reduction (internal/external at CMTs)
• Responsible for the maintenance of masterfile data tables for manufacturing accounting and costings on JDE.
