SUMMARY:
Cost Accountant

POSITION INFO:

Position Purpose / Objective:

The Accountant role will support the Financial Accountant to achieve the relevant activities executed for the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Support month-end closing process
Prepare journal entries
Monitor and reconcile key accounts
Review account balances and variances against monthly and annual budgets and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders on all account anomalies
Analyze and report on manufacturing department and the recovery of costs
Assist with inventory management and costing including product profitability and bill of materials analysis
Analyze and report on costing enquiries and ad hoc reporting requirements
Support inventory physical counts (Annual and Cyclical)
Assist with budgets and forecasting
Contribute to accurate revenue recognition in accordance with accounting standards
Preparation of management reports
Contributing to internal and external audit activities as may be necessary for the successful execution of the audit plan for the year

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications: B.Com Accounting or equivalent qualification

Experience:

Exposure in reconciliation of accounts.
Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
Costing experience is essential.
Good understanding in accordance with accounting standards
