Job Duties:

• Develop and maintain a cost accounting system, including cost standards for raw materials and finished goods.
• Analyse manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations related to cost accounts.
• Participate in inventory management activities, including conducting physical inventory counts and reconciling inventory variances.
• Provide support in budgeting and forecasting processes by analysing cost trends and variances.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA) preferred.
• Proven experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost control procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in inventory management practises.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA).
• Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.

Working Conditions:

• Office-based role, with occasional visits to production facilities.
• Standard working hours, Monday to Friday.
• Potential for overtime during month-end and year-end closing processes.
