Controller Imports and Exports

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a specialist in sea and air freight forwarding and clearing procedures. This is a very admin intensive role. It is mainly Imports, just a small portion of Exports.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Matric
• Good knowledge of freight forwarding & clearing documents, procedures and practices
• 2-3 years’ experience in Sea/Airfreight controlling capacity.
• Familiar with Customs documentation.
• Computer literacy, Navision a bonus
• Planning skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Adaptable
• Excellent communication skills

 

Key Result Areas:

• Plan freight movement of imported and exported cargo via air and sea freight.
• Coordinate the freight movement of imports and exports including customs clearance.
• Cost freight movements and prepare estimates.
• Process administration relating to all imports/export files.
• Liaise with and instruct relevant freight forwarders and transporters.
• Produce various reports and provide a clear dashboard to Operations of inbound/outbound schedules.
• Comply with all legal, quality and Group requirements.
