JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Position: Continuous Improvement Artisan (Boilermaker or Toolmaker)

Salary: R25 000 to R30 000 per month commensurate with experience and qualification

Qualifications / Requirements:

Qualified Trade Tested Artisan (Boilermaker or Toolmaker)
Minimum of 5 years Post Apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as produce small drawings when required
Computer literate (MS Excel and Outlook)
Prepared to work shifts and / or overtime at short notice including weekends if required

Key Performance Areas:

Use a wide range of handheld power tools and metalwork equipment
Work accurately and neatly, using correct measurement and layout techniques
Perform improvements to processes and systems based on gap analysis - preventative maintenance, excessive downtime, process dimensional outputs based on SPC data analysis, customer complaints internal and external
Support continuous improvement strategic projects as assigned – preventative maintenance to jigs and fixtures and improve jig and fixture design and functionality
Ensure machine capabilities are maintained
Identify and implement error proofing to machines, equipment and processes
