Construction Site Manager

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, or SACPCMP
• A solid base of at least 8 to 12 years’ experience in the construction field, with at least the last 3 years in a proven Site Manager role
• A good understanding of the JBCC contract
• Commercial construction projects experience essential!
• Computer-literate with a good knowledge of MS Project and CCS (preferably being able to update your own schedule)
• Unwavering attitude towards effective program management, quality control and cost control
• Strong management & interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure
• A good understanding of communication channels, and efficient with administration & paperwork
• Own transport required

Duties:

• Manage construction site and all related aspects in Cape Town, including effectively managing all site staff, subcontractors and suppliers
• Manage all Notifications of Delays, Variation Orders and Non-Conformance Reporting
• Interface with client/architect/professionals and be considered the main lead representative on site
• Ensure project timelines are met, strictly manage these according to an agreed schedule, and understand that continual planning is required to achieve this
• Manage quality on all work and carry out checklist inspections as per quality management procedures (ISO9001 / 2015)
• Ensure all procurement managed through the schedule/allowables and purchase orders obtained through the QS department as per the system
• Must understand the allowable for labour, materials and plant and ensure the project stays within those allowable amounts
• Ensure all subcontractor’s work is performed to the quality standards of the project requirements and hold bi-monthly subcontractor site meetings
• Manage the contract, with the assistance of the Construction Manager
• Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to
