Compliance and Reporting Officer

Reporting to Finance Manager

Pretoria East, Permanent Position

POSITION INFO:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance and Reporting Officer to join our team. As a Compliance and Reporting Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our financial reports and processes comply with regulations and internal policies. You will collaborate with various departments to gather and analyze financial data, prepare reports, and make recommendations for improvement. If you have a strong understanding of finance and a keen eye for detail, we would love to hear from you.

Overview of requirements

Degree in accounting or internal auditing
A minimum of three years’ experience in auditing
Knowledge of general accounting procedures and principles

Good organisational skills and understanding of financial monitoring and administration and accounting systems

Understanding and working knowledge of project management

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and implement an annual work plan to ensure reliable control systems, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and effective record keeping
Execute testing, investigate policy violations, provide reports, maintain a compliance risk register, and implement a compliance communication programme
Review donor contracts in collaboration with Finance management, track corrections, and ensure accurate reporting
Manage and present during pre-funding organisational capacity checks, including the collation of necessary data and documents
Maintain and organise donor and finance-related documents on the intranet
Maintain a tax calendar, review regional office tax calculations and filings, and ensure compliance with tax authority requirements, including obtaining tax clearance certificates
Handle VAT, employee tax, corporate tax and 18A donation
