Compliance Stops Clerks

SUMMARY:
New Opportunity: An International Company is seeking Compliance / Stops Clerk to join their team in Johannesburg on a 12-month contract.

POSITION INFO:

Role:

The experienced individual will be responsible for liaison with Customs authorities and customers, processing of any additional paperwork, also ensuring timeous release of shipments detained or stopped for examination by customs.

Qualifications:

• Customs Clearance Certificate or related customs course
• 3 – 7 years’ experience in a custom STOPS environment including refunds, regulations, and compliance.
• Intermediate skills level on Excel, Word & PowerPoint
• Knowledge and background on customs affairs / tariff
• Interpret custom response and have knowledge with voucher of corrections.
• Knowledge of high value stops and customs & excise act
• Prepared to work shift cycle, including weekends and public holidays
