Compliance Officer

Ensure registration compliance with government bodies and / or regulators

Implement Compliance, Risk, and Internal Monitoring programmes

Design internal controls, systems, policies and procedures and preventative measures in place for non-compliance

Review all business risks, monitor, and mitigate risks

Review all processes and documentation in all departments and all companies to ensure compliance with Companies Act, POPI, Cybercrime and King IV

Ensure implementation and maintenance of contracts register

Conduct corporate governance reviews and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements

Report on non-compliance

Review and critique of legal documentation

Conduct legal research and provide advice to Exco to ensure business is compliant with legislation, Regulatory codes and best industry practice

Managing the corporate calendar

Distribution of corporate documents

Statutory record keeping

Statutory submissions

Attend Board committee meetings and offer advice as required, including commercial contracts, procurement, employment matters

Assist with compiling property information including historical analysis of rental income, expenses, valuations

Assist with property acquisitions and disposals

Assist with title deed transfers

Stay abreast of new legislation and changes in existing legislation, and advise Exco on action required to comply

Provide strategic advice and ensure implementation of strategic projects within regulatory framework

Assist with ensuring all company information has been lodged with authorities and is updated regularly

Assisting with EEA and BBEEE submissions (Presentation of information)

Support the business as and when ad-hoc requests come in and provide information that is accurate, of a high standard and delivered within required timeframes

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Compliance and Finance role

Experience working in the property industry or in a company with a property portfolio is highly beneficial

Up to date knowledge of Companies act and relevant Laws and regulations

Experience in maintaining relationships with Internal stakeholders

Good knowledge of Companies Act essential

Qualification:

BCom Finance Qualification is non-negotiable
