SUMMARY:
Community Manager - Lead - Kinshasa, DRC

POSITION INFO:

Community Support for our projects, as part of a broader social licence to operate, is key for their success. As is delivering on their vision to create thriving communities which benefit from the growth and development of our business. This role will primarily be responsible for the development of a Community Engagement and Social Performance Strategy for the DRC, and the projects of interest for our client.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with local communities where our client''s projects are located.
Plan, develop and implement community consultation and participation strategies for all stakeholders.
Oversee the required social studies for the delivery of our client''s projects including managing the social consultants.
Negotiate, conclude, and implement agreements with communities.
Community development planning, and program implementation
Development of relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders including NGOS and Government.
Measure, monitor and review the processes and projects of the community department.

Person Specification

Experience & Skills

Language – French + English
Strong written and verbal communicator – to a variety of audiences including local communities and stakeholders, government officials, colleagues and consultants.
Ability to innovate and willingness to embrace new ideas and ways of doing things.
Experience designing and delivering community engagement activities including extensive consultative processes.
Delivery of social and community related project approvals.
Managing complex community issues for large infrastructure projects or other relevant experience.
Successful delivery of community projects and programs with measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

Degree - community development or relevant social science field – could include international relations, law other.

5-10 years’ experience
