Communication Officer

SUMMARY:
An exciting position exisits for a Communication Officer for our client based in the Durban area on a 2 year fixed term contract, to support company’s internal and external communications strategy, write, review and disseminate material, respond to inquiries from the public and media, and coordinate media events and announcements.

POSITION INFO:

Writing articles and press releases

Interacting with journalists to schedule interviews
Assist in developing communications materials
Monitor and manage company’s social media platforms and the Company website
Monitor media coverage and download media coverage for storage
Assist with video productions
Assist in producing a monthly newsletter
Co-ordination of press briefings

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, public relations or related field
3 to 5 years professional experience working in a communications role
Knowledge of desktop publishing software

English language proficiency both verbal and written

Excellent writing skills

Proficiency in computer skills including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and other multimedia tools
