An established manufacturer has a vacancy for a Commissioning Engineer.

This industry leader has been established in 1999, is based in Johannesburg.  Their name is renowned Internationally.  The ideal candidate will have previous experience in both electrical and mechanical site commissioning as well as workshop supervision experience.  Must be a hands on and has attention to detail.  Experience in light manufacturing of equipment, conveyor belts and robotics will be an added advantage.

Education:

• BEng in Electrical Engineering

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• 3-4 years’ experience in the automation industry.
• Code B license and own vehicle.
• Must be willing to work irregular hours, and able to travel abroad.
• Solid understanding of electronics (mechatronics).
• Must be able to read electrical drawings and CAD drawings.
• Be able to troubleshoot by problem solving.
• Attention to detail and meticulous about paperwork
• Wire software: Siemens/Allen Bradley, Mitshibishi and Omron.
• Dry mechanical inspections of all “in-house” completed machinery.
• Live commissioning of “all” in-house equipment on the shop floor where practically possible.
• Based on the project schedule, you will need to attend site at various phases for various durations to meet the project deadlines
• Ensuring that all the electrical/pneumatic equipment is setup correctly prior to applying power/air for the first time. For example, this may include VSDs, overloads, breakers, oven burners, regulators, values, timers, and positioners that are configurable.
