Black Salt Restaurant is recruiting an experienced Commis Chef de Rang – based in Sandton.

Description:

The Commis de Rang primary responsibility is to prepare the dining venues, food pass and service area of an assigned station in restaurants. The Commis de Rang ensures excellence by assisting Chef de Rang in the execution of dining service standards to all Guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chef de Rang in the service of food and beverage to all guests
  • Prepare and equip the restaurants and private dining rooms in accordance to the set standards
  • Service meals and beverages with guidance of the Chef de Rang.
  • Clear trays in public areas and room service.
  • Assist and undertake any reasonable duties as instructed by the Chef De Rang and Restaurant Manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years relevant experience in fine dining restaurants.
  • Practical fine dining experience
  • A Diploma in Hotel Management or Restaurant services for 1 year is preferred
  • Working knowledge on point of sales systems
  • Excellent eye for attention to details essential
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Able to read, write and speak fluently in English

Please note that relocation costs will be for your own expense should your application be successful and you reside outside of the JHB Area.
