SUMMARY:
A luxury 5-star hotel in Franschhoek is looking for an experienced Commis Chef. Satisfying guests' needs and exceeding guest expectations are your number one priority. Responsible for assisting the Head Chef in maintaining good standards and an efficient operation, controlling, and guiding the staff on his own shift. This ever-expanding luxury hospitality portfolio offers dynamic career opportunities to positive, vibrant, and energetic individuals.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Does all the mise en place, preparation, cutting of meat, fish.
Cooking and arranging of food as instructed.
Coordinate activities to ensure an efficient and smooth food service.
Controls cost by minimising spoilage waste and exercising portion control

Experience and Skills:

Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar position
Competent knife skills
Knowledge of basic herbs, spices and ingredients and their use
Able to ensure all prep is done
Must be able to multitask and handle pressure

Inherent Requirements:

Matric Certificate
Diploma in professional cookery advantageous
Full Covid-19 Vaccination is mandatory

BENEFITS:

Competitive Salary.
Transport is possible between 18:00 pm – 06:00 am to Franschhoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch, therefore all other transportation would be up to the individual.
