Commercial Claims Consultant (Centurion)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The purpose is the effective claims handling and settlement of claims. Ensure efficient service levels to internal and external clients. These duties include: accurate reserving of a claim, reviewing insurance policies to determine cover, contacting insured clients to obtain all required information, providing customer service.

 

Responsibilities:

vHandling commercial claims including Heavy Commercial Vehicles claims from registration, right up until settlement.
vEnsuring confirmation of cover has been completed correctly.
vReporting and handling of commercial motor and non-motor claims.
vCommunicate with clients, the responsible party, their insurers, solicitors, and various other parties involved in the claims process, by telephone and/or by written communication.
vEnsure effective and timely claims management and settlement (in line with the SLA agreement).
vAssist with administrative functions and undertake special projects as and when requested.
vTo maintain the claims filing system effectively and efficiently – ensure all documents are renamed correctly.
vTo update client on the progress of the claim telephonically and via email.
vAdvise clients on general queries and claims issues.
vRequesting payments correctly within mandate.
vHandling of Compliments and Complaints according to the Compliments and Complaints Business Processes.
vAd hoc duties assigned by management from time-to-time.

Qualifications & Experience:

vClear Credit and Criminal Record.
vGrade 12 certificate or equivalent Level 4 qualification issued by SAQA.
vRelevant FAIS (150 crédits) & FAIS RE5 (compulsory).
vShort-term claims experience in Personal and Commercial Lines.
vMinimum of 3 years working experience.
vMinimum of 3-5 years in short-term industry.
vMotor and Non-Motor experience.
vComputer Literacy – MS Office: Work, Excel, Outlook – Intermediate Skill level.
vReliable transport.

 

Productivity:

vNew Claims handled – 60 claims to be worked on per day.
vOpen Claims – No claims to be open 90+ days.
vManagement of Tasks – All tasks to be attended to within the 4 working hours SLA.
vClosing of Tasks – Detailed notes are always to be left as to why the task is being closed.
vManagement of reminders – All reminders to be attended to daily.
vUtilisation & management of notes – Detailed & accurate notes are always to be used.
vCommunication (telephone/e-mail) – Ensuring professional communication at all times.
vUpdating clients (repair process and repair satisfaction) – Via telephone and email.
