SUMMARY:
To deliver products to Customers timeously and to operate heavy duty vehicles in a safe and economic manner and in compliance with legal and operational requirements.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications and or Experience:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• 2 years driving experience.
• Valid Code 10 licence with PDP.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

• Complete standard vehicle checklist as per maintenance /mechanical checklist.
• Vehicle inspection is recorded daily and legibly and in accordance with maintenance checklist.
• All vehicle defects are identified and reported accurately; comprehensively and timeously, so that the necessary actions to rectify defects are initiated.
• All prescribed and or other relevant preliminaries are executed (e.g. brake tests)
• Ensure interior and exterior vehicle cleanliness.
• Vehicle instruments are monitored for malfunctions and appropriate action is taken, where required.
• Complete trips to and from customers and other destinations.
• Customer deliveries are priority therefore ensure that these deliveries are completed first.
• Drive and manoeuvre vehicle in accordance with the K53 standard; manufacturer specifications and provisions of the Road Traffic Act.
• Vehicle is driven to actively prevent accidents; injury to people or damage to property/ vehicle; despite the incorrect actions of others or adverse conditions (Application of Defensive Driving Principles)
• Vehicle is parked; shut down and secured in accordance with manufacturer specifications and traffic regulations.
• Standards to pertain to:

• Loading and off-loading times.
• Fuel consumption.

• Emergencies are dealt with and reported in accordance with operational procedures
• Correctly complete and submit trip sheets.
• Trip sheets are submitted after each shift and shows stops, delays and the reasons therefore.
• Ensure that the delivery note corresponds to the load delivered.
• Ensure that there is a POD for each trip.
• Ensure that the card along with fuel slips are returned to finance after every use.
• Comply with company code of conduct, policies and procedures
• Know, understand and comply with Health and Safety Regulations.
• Correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn at all times
• Able to identify Fatigue Management and act accordingly
• Perform other duties as requested by management from time to time and carry out as instructed.
• Assist the dispatchers in the department.
• Pick according to picking report.
• Select quantity of rolls in in the allocated bin and scan the roll against the order and bay.
• Load onto the trolley and put the picking report in the security''s tray.
• Once security scans, any discrepancies on validation need to be checked and rectified by Dispatchers.
• After Security validates the rolls, the rolls are then loaded by RTT for shipment.
• Bin rolls for cash customers in row 1 – 9 to avoid dismantling a stack when the order is ready to be dispatched.
• Load rolls into bin.
• Scan rolls against bin number.
• Report any errors on bin scanning.
• Dispatch back area - 5 rolls and more of same knit products to be in a bin.
• Create empty bins to accommodate for bigger products to be bin in one bin.
• Counting and recording stock as per company stock take procedure.
• Scan and record stock.
• Submit counting sheet to Supervisor.
• All binned stock to be neatly packed away.
• General safety rules to be adhered to when stacking stock.
• Housekeeping must be done daily.
