Coal and Ash Site Manager

SUMMARY:
We are a medium enterprise whose core business is to provide rail operations, maintenance, logistics

POSITION INFO:

We provide rail operations, maintenance, logistics and other rail related solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manages the day-to-day operations and assures the smooth and efficient functioning of the site
• Ensuring the achievement of Safety, Health, Quality and Production targets
• Responsible for compliance to relevant legislation including but not limited to the OHSA, and BCEA
• Responsible for management and direction of personnel on the mine/site, ensuring the highest standards of performance through training and development
• Ensuring the implementation of policy and strategic decisions from EXCO
• Monitoring overall performance and timeous implementation of corrective actions as per the company business process management protocols
• Providing input into the annual business planning process and ensures subsequent compliance to the company’s business planning. Approves the site plan and is responsible for execution of the site plan
• Assures that activities are carried out in line with approved SOPs and ensures continual updates and reviews of such SOPs
• Responsible for ongoing evaluation of all on site processes and the continuous improvement thereof
• Recommends continuous improvement projects to the site for implementation
• Overseeing team activities to ensure Health and Environmental Safety, Production and Cost targets are met
• Recommend level of equipment and staff that will ensure safe and efficient operations to EXCO
• Define accountabilities and targets for site management and evaluate performance regularly
• Constantly analyses data to improve and manage operational costs
• Constantly communicates with stakeholders about activities of the site (Reports: Daily, weekly, Monthly, Yearly)
• Ensuring compliance: company policies, company code of conduct

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Operations/Production Management/Project Management/Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Engineering
• Microsoft Office (Advanced level)
• Mineral Transport: Coal and Ash logistics experience advantageous
• 8 - 10 Years management experience in Rail/Cement
• This vacancy requires an ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and Public Holiday as per operational requirements. Be willing to work shift and be on standby
