SUMMARY:
Clinical Facilitator
POSITION INFO:
To plan and facilitate identified training and development interventions to ensure competency of all nursing staff in the Hospital.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Degree/Diploma in General Nursing
• Nursing Education Diploma
• Unit Specific Diploma: Critical Care or Operating Theatre or Trauma and Emergency.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council
• At least two years’ experience in a similar position and as a mentor and Workplace assessor
• Two years’ experience in a managerial position will be an added advantage
• Good communication, organizing, planning, facilitation and assessment skills
• Knowledge of nursing processes and procedures
• Clinical risk management and Infection prevention and control principles and protocols
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Relevant nursing legislation
• Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
KEY WORK OUTPUTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Identify training needs to guide the development of required and appropriate clinical training interventions.
• Develop training manuals and evaluation tools.
• Develop and review evaluation and learning strategies.
• Implement and maintain standards of health practices required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation.
• Keep accurate training records.
• Liaise with the Skills Development Facilitator for skills development in the Hospital.
• Develop the competencies of all nursing staff through training interventions.
• Ensure the correct application of nursing policies and procedures.
• Promote a culture of continuous professional development among all nursing staff.
• Facilitate all clinical related training in the Hospital.
